Montana Sapphires

Sapphire, along with ruby, emerald, and diamond has always been one of the most important precious gemstones. Its hardness, stability, and toughness makes it suitable for all types of jewelry. Also, it comes in all the colors of the rainbow.

Montana Sapphires are found in three major areas in the western half of the state: Missouri River near Helena, Rock Creek in the Sapphire Mountains, and Dry Cottonwood near Deer Lodge.
